Effective Detox Vegetables


Artichoke

Artichokes contain amounts of a certain antioxidant, called silymarin. Silymarin stimulates the liver and thus helps to detox the body. Ideally, artichokes are taken in with some olive oil. You can also add some salt and pepper and a little thyme to get a delicious flavour. If you cook your artichoke, make sure it is not overcooked, so that there are still health beneficial ingredients in there.


Arugula

Arugula is an effective detox agent, since it contains several detoxifying and anti-aging ingredients, e.g. sulphoraphane, indole-3-carbinol, lutein and zeaxanthin. Also, there is a number of vitamins and minerals in arugula, e.g. Vitamin C and K. Add arugula to your salads or main dishes to get all the health benefits it provides.


Brokkoli

Brokkoli has proven to be a real detox booster to the body. It contains numbers of vitamins, e.g. vitamin C, E and provitamin A as well as several minerals that help detoxifying the body. Scientists also found coenzyme Q10 in there, which is believed to help making you younger again.


Beetroot

Beetroot as well as the greens on top provide multiple health benefits and also help detoxifying the body. Beet root has proven to normalize blood pressure in patients with Hypertension. It also contains huge amounts of iron and zinc as well as the phytonutrients betaine and betalain, which have a powerful effect on detoxifying activities in the liver. Add more beetroot to your meals and benefit from its incredible health effects.


Brussels sprouts

Many people dislike eating Brussels sprouts, but this vegetable is a very effective detoxification agent. They are capable to lower cholesterol Levels. They also seem to be effective in DNA protection. Brussels sprouts contain huge amounts of glucosinolate, a phytonutrient that builds the chemical basis of numbers of anti-cancer agents in the body.
